SUMY THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY CELEBRATED THE PATRONAL FEAST AND THE ANNUAL ACT.

On October 25, 2017, church celebrations on the occasion of the patronal feast of the seminary church of St.Simeon the New Theologian were held at Sumy Theological Seminary. The night before, an all - night vigil and a prayer service were led by Archimandrite Antony (Bondarenko), Vice - Rector (responsible for teaching and educational work) of STS. The students of the seminary carried kliros obedience, and also prayed with lay devotees. Yu.O. Lyannoy, Rector of Sumy State Pedagogical University took part in the service.

On the very day of the feast, a conciliar Divine Liturgy was conducted. It was led by Archimandrite Antony (Bondarenko) in the service of the seminary teachers. All the seminar student received Holy Communion. Regular "Many Years!" were proclaimed.

A solemn Act, in which teachers, students, and guests of the Theological School took part, was conducted after the service.

The archpastoral letter to the participants of the solemn Act was read out by Archimandrite Anastasy (Panov). Archimandrite Antony (Bondarenko) made a report on the topic "The Personal Creative Contribution of the Patriarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church of Modern Times to the Creation of National Culture and Statehood". All the participants were welcomed by the secretary of the Sumy Diocese protopriest Georgy Taraban, and Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of History and Philosophy of Sumy State Pedagogical University Yu. V. Podrez who was an honored guest of Sumy Theological Seminary.

After the completion of the Act , all the participants of the celebrations were offered a festive dinner.
