The First Meeting of the Pedagogical Council of Sumy Theological Seminary
On November 27, 2015 in Sumy Seminary chaired by the Archbishop of Sumy and Akhtyrka Evlogiy held an extraordinary meeting of the Pedagogical Council. After singing "Heavenly King ..." His Eminence said an extensive agenda of the meeting of the Pedagogical Council.
Archbishop read the regulations from Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at October 27, 2015 (Journal №44) about reorganization of the Sumy Pastoral-Theological School by raising its status to the level of Theological Seminary. Also, he was read a decree of His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Onuphriy about the appointment of Archbishop of Sumy and Akhtyrka Evlogiy as the Rector of Sumy Seminary.
By decrees of the Bishop of the Sumy diocese to the position of Vice-rector for academical and discipline work of the seminary was appointed monk Anthoniy (Bondarenko), Vice-rector for administrative and economic part - Archpriest Evgeniy Fedenko, Secretary of the Bound and assistant of the Vice-rector for academical and discipline work – A.S.Trokhimchuk
The Pedagogical Council determined to celebrate the day of the Sumy Seminary at October 25- the feast day of St. Simeon Noviy Bogoslov. The church of seminary had sanctified in honor of this Saint.
The meeting discussed issues of approving the emblem (logo), the flag of seminary, elected the editorial council of seminary’s site. A contest was announced among teachers and students for the best slogan of the STS.
Teaching Council supported the initiative of the rector of the seminary about name this seminary of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr (Sabodan), establishing a individual scholarship of His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr, and the creation of the museum in honor of His Beatitude. Annually to the birthday of the Primate of Kiev, on November 23, Pedagogical Council decided spend the Vladimyr reading.
The Council of STS decided to enter the Greek, Latin and English days of prayer in the seminary, and also to make the Divine Liturgy in the Greek language in the celebration of the Three Saints. Singing "Dostoino Est’..." Pedagogical Council had completed its work.
