Seminarians from Sumy made a pilgrimage to the Akhtyrka Trinity Monastery

On April 7, 2016, the feast of the Annunciation, with the blessing of the rector of the seminary, the Archbishop of Sumy and Akhtyrka Evlogii, students from seminary headed by vice-rector for academical and discipline work monk Anthonii (Bondarenko) made a pilgrimage to Akhtyrka Trinity Monastery.

During the pilgrimage trip, the group visited church of Annunciation and church of Ascension in Trostyanets, Pokrovsky Cathedral, St. Mikhail’s church, St. Georgey’s church in Akhtyrka.

In the Akhtyrka Trinity Monastery students from theological seminary took an active part in the vigil, which began at 20:00 and lasted until midnight. The service was performed according to the ordinance of the Greek monasteries. At the end of the service brethren of the monastery offered tea to the students. During having tea father superior, Archimandrite Simeon (Gagatik) spoke about the life and the rule of the monastery, the features of the church services in the monastery, said the edifications to future pastors.
