Representatives of Sumy Seminary took part in the International scientific-practical conference
With the blessing of his Eminence, the Rector of the Archbishop of Sumy and Akhtyrka Eulogii, a teacher of the Kursk theological Seminary, Archimandrite Anastassii (Panov) and student of 2-year Paul Fedoryshyn took part in VІII International scientific-practical conference "theological and secular education: history of relations – present – perspectives", which took place in the Kiev Theological Academy on October 25-26, 2016. In addition to the Kiev Theological Academy and Seminary, the forum's organizer was the international Institute of the Athonite legacy in Ukraine.
The scientific forum was held with the blessing of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onuphrius. Congratulatory address of His Beatitude was read at the beginning of the plenary session.
Conference in this year was dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of the ancient Russian monasticism on Mount Athos, as well as the 200th anniversary of the birth of Metropolitan Macarius (Bulgakov).
The plenary of the conference was headed by Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, rector of the Kiev Theological Academy and Seminary. The Bureau also made the Metropolitan of Zaporizhia and Melitopol Luka, honorary Metropolitan of the Czech lands and Slovakia Archbishop Christopher (Pulets), the head of the Educational Committee of the UOC Bishop of Irpen Clement, first Vice-rector of KTA Archpriest Sergei Yuschik, Director of the International Institute of the Athonite legacy in Ukraine Sergey Shumilo and Vice-rector for scientific and theological work of KDA Vladimir Burega.
The conference was attended by representatives of the highest spiritual and secular educational institutions of Italy, Germany, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine.
A teacher of the Kursk theological Seminary, Archimandrite Anastassii (Panov) made a report "Hieroschemamonk Anthony (Bulatovich) and the tragedy of Russian monasticism.
