On the day of memory of the Three Saints in Sumy Theological Seminary served Divine Liturgy in Greek

On February 12, 2016, the feast day of the ecumenical teachers and sainted Vasiliy Velikiy, Gregoriy Bogoslov and Ioahn Zlatoust, in the church of St. Simeon Noviy Bogoslov and Ioahn of Kronstadt the Rector of Sumy Seminary Archbishop of Sumy and Okhtyrka Evlogii served the Divine Liturgy (the day before - Vigil in the Sumy Spaso-Preobrazhenskiy cathedral).

His Eminence was joined by teachers and students of the clergy.

A feature of the holiday was the church service of the Divine Liturgy in Greek – at the first time in newly formed Sumy seminary.

In Greek, were proclaimed litany, whoops, read the Gospel and Apostle, sung Cherubic, Canon and other Eucharistic prayers.

After the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Evlogii congratulated teachers and students with the commemoration day ecumenical teachers and saints, and appeal with didactic word.

Tradition serving in the Greek language on the day of ecumenical saints in theological schools existed before 1917: Divine Liturgy chants, litanies of priests sung in native language of the Saints.
