In Sumy the Seminary hosted a celebration of the feast day and Annual act

On October 25, 2016, the day of memory of venerable Simeon the New Theologian, for the first time in the history of Sumy Theological Seminary behalf of his Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir (Sabodan) held celebrations on the occasion of Assembly day of the theological school.

The night before all-night vigil, which took place in the Seminary Church in honor of St. Simeon the New Theologian and St. Ioann of Kronstadt, was read the Penitential canons, The Holy Mother of God and Guardian Angel. After dinner, the students again gathered in the temple. Was served Small Compline with the reading of the Canon for Holy Communion, and in the morning read morning prayer and prayer for Holy Communion.

The Divine Liturgy was headed by the rector of the Seminary, the Archbishop Sumy and Akhtyrka Eulogii, assisted by the teachers and students in Holy orders. Before the Divine Liturgy, his grace, the rector performed the rite of chirotesia as a reader over the pupils of the fourth year of the Seminary.

After the Gospel reading, Sumy Archpastor addressed the faithful with a sermon, after the communion verse pupil of the IV course Alexander Kostyuk read the sermon . During the Liturgy, all students have Holy communion. After the dismissal proclaimed the many years.

On 12 p.m. in the auditorium of the Seminary held its commencement ceremony, which was opened by the rector of STS Archbishop of Sumy and Akhtyrka Eulogii. Vice-rector Archimandrite Anthony (Bondarenko) made report on educational work. Assembly speech on the topic: "the Essence of monasticism" said the Rector. Read congratulations to theological school from the Chairman of the education Committee of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church Archbishop Evgenii of Verey and Chairman of the education Committee of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church the Bishop Clement of Irpen . A greeting speech said the rector of the Sumy Makarenko State Pedagogical University, candidate of pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lannoii Yuriy Olegovich.

With archpastoral word of exhortation for the teachers and the students appealed the ruling Bishop of the Sumy diocese. In his speech, His Eminence stressed the importance of meaningful comprehension of theology and called for God's blessing on all the workers of the theological school. The Bishop donated to the Seminary library the ancient Church manuscripts.

The celebration ended with a festive meal.
