A group of teachers and students of Sumy Seminary made a pilgrimage to the Uspenskaya Svyatogorskaya Lavra

13-15 of May, 2016 a group of teachers and students of Sumy Theological Seminary, led by the Vice-rector for Academic and Disciplinary Work Archimandrite Anthony (Bondarenko) made a pilgrimage to the Uspenskaya Svyatogorskaya Lavra.

Pilgrims visited the Blagoveshchenskyi Cathedral in Kharkov, where they venerated to the holy relics of St. Athanasyi Tsaregradskiy, Chudotvorets of Lubny, St. Meletyi of Kharkov, Hieromartyr Alexander, Archbishop of Kharkov, Revered list of Ozeryanska Mother of God icon and other holy sites.

In the Svyatogorsk Laura pilgrims took part in all the monastic services in the cathedral church, confessed and received Holy Communion.

With the blessing of the rural dean of the monastery archimandrite Galaktion was held extensive three-hour excursion for pilgrim groups. Together with a lavra guide - Hieromonk Modest - pilgrims visited the monastery churches, museums, and All Saints skit and Antony Feodosievsky skit, chalk monastery cave, St. Nicholas Church on the crag. Because of the impossibility of passing blurry by rain forest trails to the site of the ruined monastery of St. Arseny Velykyi and his caves pilgrims went on a catamaran on the waters of Seversky Donets.

On the way back from the monastery pilgrims visited Voznesenskyi Cathedral in Izyum where committed prayer akathist singing to the miraculous Peschanskaya icon of the Mother of God, venerated the miraculous icon and the relics of the saints and other holy places of the temple. Returning home, each pilgrim received shared impressions. The trip did not leave anybody indifferent. A particularly deep impression in the hearts of the monastery left the service - long, but solemn, prayer and grace.

Organizers and participants of the pilgrimage are deeply grateful to authority of Lavra, settlers for a warm welcome and a good attitude.
