Archpriest Roman Opolonsky
Archpriest Opolonsky Roman Mikhailovich was born on May 20, 1983 in a small town Nedrigayliv, Nedrigayliv district of Sumy region.
From 1989 to 2000 he studied at secondary school of Nedrigayliv.
In 2000 he entered to the Sumy Pastoral Theological School, which he graduated in 2003. From 2004 to 2008 he studied at the Chernivtsi Orthodox Theological Institute at the Theological- Education Faculty. From 2009 to 2013 he studied at the Kiev Theological Academy.
On April 4, 2004, at the fiest of Verbnoe Voskresenie, the ordained deacon at the Spaso-Preobrazhenskiy Cathedral in Sumy by Reverend Iov (Smakouz), Bishop of Sumy and Akhtyrka, and intended to serve in the Peter and Paul Church of Sumy. On May 2, 2009 ordained a presbyter in the Spaso-Preobrazhenskiy Cathedral in Sumy by Reverend Evlogii (Gutchenko), Bishop of Sumy and Akhtyrka. Pastoral service continues in the Peter and Paul Church of Sumy.
Since 2006 teacher of Sumy Pastoral Theological School.
Teaches Basic Theology (3rd year), the History of Orthodoxy in Ukraine (3rd year).
