Name

His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir (Sabodan) Sumy Theological Seminary is an orthodox ecclesiastical educational establishment of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of higher vocational and religious education with four-year training period.

Abbreviation is STS.

Purpose of the Educational Establishment

Sumy Theological Seminary trains clergymen of the Orthodox Church, staff of the diocesan structures, specialists in teaching Orthodox culture, the Law of God in secular educational establishments, Orthodox missionaries, theologically educated laymen.

Date of Foundation

On October 27, 2015 the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church presided over by His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Onuphrius (journal № 44) having considered the report of His Eminence Archbishop of Sumy and Akhtyrka Eulogy on the reorganization of the Sumy Theological School by transforming it into Sumy Theological Seminary blessed to convert Sumy Theological School into Sumy Theological Seminary.

Archbishop of Sumy and Akhtyrka Eulogy was appointed Rector of Sumy Theological Seminary by the Holy Synod of the UOC.

Founder

The founder of Sumy Theological Seminary is the Sumy Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
