 General Provisions

This Regulation

defines the order and the system of application of measures of moral and material incentives for students of Sumy Seminary for excellence in educational, research work and active participation in social activities and seminars;

regulates the action of moral and material incentives for students depending on their relationship to their students' rights and responsibilities, compliance with rules of conduct.

The purpose of the Regulation:

ensuring the Seminary supportive creative environment for fruitful study and work;

maintaining order, based on the conscious discipline and moral principles of the educational process;

preparing pupils for responsible life in a free society.

The promotion announced the order of the rector of Sumy seminary.

A copy of the promotion order is stored in the personal file of the pupil.

The right to nominate candidates among pupils to promote and encourage the kind of appointment belongs to the pedagogical council of Seminary.

Promotions announced in widely publicized situation, brought to the attention of the students.

Information on the promotion is laid out on the website and on a board and of Seminary.

Types of incentives

Proclaiming of thanks:

The letter of commendation from rector of the seminary to student;

The letter of commendation from rector to the student’s parents (issued on the letterhead of the Seminary with the name, surname, patronymic of the student's parent, is read in a solemn ceremony and sent to the address to parents).

Awarding a valuable gift.

Awarding of cash bonuses.

Award Bishop of Merit of the ruling bishop of the Sumy Diocese.

Entitlement to participate in readings, seminars, conferences, theological education of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Publication of articles and works of the Sumy students in the diocesan newspaper "Orthodox Sumy".

Pronouncing a sermon at the Spaso-Preobrazhenskiy Cathedral in Sumy.

Provision of additional vacation days during the Christmas, Easter and summer holidays.

Providing weekend of each month semester.

Paid Seminary pilgrimage (decision on the possibility, location and duration, concessional travel taken rector of the seminary).

 Principle of represent of students to promote

Promotions apply to students of Seminary:

for high achievements and success in learning (progress - the first category is the first rank);

for their dedicated work to the benefit of the Seminary and Diocese of Sumy in the areas of catechetical, missionary, educational activities;

raising the prestige of the theological seminary in the readings, seminars and conferences of the UOC educational institutions;

personal creative initiative and its implementation in the organization of educational and economic life of the Seminary;

active participation in the organization of events held by seminary or Sumy diocesan authority;

participation in the liturgical life of the church of Seminary and of the diocesan church services;

A good behavior, noble acts.

Promotions do not apply to students of the Seminary if

with weak progress in learning (progress - the second rank, no certification in subjects failing grade); comments on behavior; standing on the seminary’s control.
